Suit color is flexible, and crystal decorations are permitted. Please note, thong or T-back style suits are not allowed. Jewelry is acceptable. We emphasize professionalism and sportsmanship; any overtly sexual posing, inappropriate behavior for younger audiences, or disruption to the event may lead to disqualification. Our aim is to maintain a respectful and dignified environment for all athletes and spectators.
Division Overview
In the Figure Division, judges evaluate competitors on a well-conditioned physique that displays symmetry, structured musculature, and balanced proportions, complemented by a confident stage presence. Unlike the Bikini Division, Figure competitors should demonstrate greater muscle size and fullness, and a clear muscle definition that fits within the standards of the division. Attention to detail is crucial, including the fit of the attire, precise hair styling, and makeup application, all contributing to the overall impression. The skin’s tone and texture also play a significant role in the visual presentation. Competitors are encouraged to present a physique that balances muscularity without veering into excessive bulkiness or deep striations.
The Figure Division places a significant emphasis on body structure, with the V-taper and X-frame being particularly important in achieving the ideal figure look. This division requires competitors to be more muscular and conditioned than those in the Bikini Division but not as conditioned as those in the FemFit Physique and Women’s Physique categories. It’s a delicate balance; too much conditioning, leading to an appearance of extreme leanness, is penalized. The goal is to showcase a physique that is both strong and aesthetically pleasing, emphasizing muscle fullness and a balanced, sculpted appearance that aligns with the natural aesthetics of the sport.
Judging Criteria
- In the Figure Division, emphasis is placed on a strong, structured physique that balances muscularity and fitness.
- Muscularity: This division favors well-defined muscles with significant size and fullness, maintaining an aesthetic and sculpted appearance. Muscularity should enhance the natural V-taper and X-frame without becoming overly extreme.
- Conditioning: Competitors should show a higher level of muscle definition and leanness than in Bikini, but avoid excessive hardness or vascularity. Proper conditioning should accentuate muscle shapes and separations while preserving a feminine aesthetic; over-conditioning is penalized.
- Symmetry and Proportion: Judges prioritize symmetry and proportion, seeking a balanced development between upper and lower body, highlighted by a defined waist to create a clear X-frame silhouette. The physique should be evenly developed, contributing to a proportionate overall appearance.
- Stage Presence: Presentation is critical. Competitors are judged on their confidence, poise, and the ability to present themselves in a way that highlights their best features.
- Posing and Walk: The ability to pose and walk in a manner that is both graceful and flattering to the physique is essential. Competitors should be able to transition smoothly between poses and convey their personality on stage.
- Competition Attire and Aesthetics: The suit should be well-fitting and flattering. It’s important to choose a color and style that complements your skin tone and physique.
- Makeup and Hair: Professional, stage-appropriate makeup and hair are important. These should enhance your natural features without overpowering your overall look.
- Tanning: A smooth, even competition tan is crucial to highlight muscle definition and stage presence.
Group Comparisons
Each class is positioned at the front center stage and led through a series of quarter turns to exhibit their physiques from the front, left, back, and right. Competitors should execute these quarter turn stances as demonstrated. Failure to perform the poses as specified can lead to deductions in scoring by the judges.
Front Pose
- Feet should be aligned with heels together, ensuring no foot is positioned in front of the other.
- Competitors must orient their hips directly towards the judges, keeping arms at their sides without touching the body or being excessively spread apart.
- Lats need to be flared out to effectively display a pronounced V-Taper.
- Toes should point towards the judges, although a slight outward angling of the toes is permissible to enhance the presentation of the quadriceps.
Side Poses
- Hips and feet should be oriented towards the side of the stage, with feet flat on the ground.
- The upper body should be rotated 35 degrees towards the judges, allowing the rear shoulder to be visible without overly twisting.
- The hand facing the judges should hang naturally, ensuring it does not touch the sides or spread too wide.
- The hand not facing the judges should not rest on the hip.
- Feet may be positioned with a slight offset, limited to half the length of the foot (either the front or back foot can be offset).
Back Pose
- Feet should be together or positioned very closely, ensuring toes are not spread widely apart.
- There should be no offsetting of the feet; they must not be staggered or one in front of the other.
- Competitors are advised to style their hair to one side to ensure a clear view of the back.
- Arms should remain at the sides with hands hanging freely, palms facing towards the body.
- Lats must be flared widely to effectively showcase a V-Taper.
Individual Presentations
The individual presentation portion consists of a model walk on stage accompanied by music. Competitors enter and walk to the rear center stage, where they pause briefly in a chosen pose. They then proceed to the front center stage, performing quarter turns to display the front, sides, and back of their physiques. Following this, competitors walk to one side of the stage, pause in a chosen pose, move to the opposite side for another brief pause, and return to the front center stage for a final pause in a pose of their choice before exiting. While the individual presentation does not contribute to the overall placement scores, it is considered for Best Presentation awards when they are available.
